Prior to joining the Family Court of Australia I practised as a solicitor in the family law jurisdiction since my admission in March 1983.
In 2000 I became a member of the VLA Child Representative Panel and continued until leaving private practice. I was a member of the Law Institute Children and Young Persons Committee and the founding Chair of the Child Representative Sub Committee. From September 2005, I was employed as a Registrar of the Family Court and Federal Magistrates Court.
In December 2006 I assumed the role of the Magellan Registrar and in December 2005 I became a member of and secretary to the Family Court Rules Committee.
