Chris commenced his practice in Adelaide, initially in the areas of family law and crime. Chris joined Tindall Gask Bentley as a solicitor in 2003 where he practiced in the areas of family law, wills and estates and personal injuries.
Chris moved to Melbourne to join Slater and Gordon in 2004 where he worked as a Senior Associate in the Family Law section of the Melbourne office until coming to the Bar in 2008.
Chris is experienced in all aspects of Family Law matters including property settlements (both defacto and matrimonial), children’s matters and child support. Chris has particular interest in complex property settlement matters and International Child Abduction (Hague Convention) cases. Chris also frequently appears in matters in the following fields: Defacto Property, Criminal Law, Inquests, Transport Accident Commission & Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal.
Chris regularly appears in the Family Court, Federal Magistrates Court, County Court, Supreme Court, VCAT and the Children’s Court.
Chris has appeared on behalf of clients in a range of criminal matters and he has considerable experience with Intervention Orders (including Appellate matters) and other applications under the Crimes (Family Violence) legislation.
Chris also practices in the areas of Wills and Estates with a focus on Family testator maintenance claims, Personal Injuries (Transport Accident Commission cases), VCAT, Inquests, Defamation and litigation pursuant to the Trades Practices Act.
Chris is available for interstate and circuit appearances.
