1976 – Undertook articles at Cornwall Stodart & Co.
1977- Admitted to practice
1978 – Joined the then Australian Legal Aid Office at Geelong. Acted for clients as well as appearing as Duty Solicitor (on call) at the Geelong Magistrates Court, Children’s Court and County Court (on circuit) as well as appearing for clients in the Family Court (circuit). On Steering committee to establish the South Barwon Legal Service and regularly attended legal clinic at Corio.
October, 1980 – Founded the Duty Solicitor service at the Melbourne Registry of the Family Court of Australia where I appeared on a daily basis for the unrepresented and undertook telephone advice roles. I solely operated this scheme until called to the bar in 1984.
1991 – 2001 – Representative of the Family Law Bar Association at the Legal Profession meetings at the Dandenong Registry with the judiciary and staff.
1995 – Chaired session at Independent Lawyer’s Seminar; (first appeared as a Separate Representative in 1978).
2006 – Wrote, published and delivered paper at request of Lexis Nexis at seminar on Family Law.
2009 – Wrote and delivered paper on running a trial at Family Law Aid Commission seminar.
